Biography

Margarida Ribau Teixeira is Assistant Professor at University of Algarve, Faculty of Sciences and Technology and senior researcher at CENSE – Center for Sustainability and Environmental Research. She holds a PhD in Environmental Technologies from University of Algarve, a MSc in Sanitary Engineering and a BSc in Environmental Engineering (5 years course) both from New University of Lisbon. 

Her research activity is carried out in the development of advanced and clean technologies to face emerging pollutants from water and wastewater. Technologies such as membrane filtration, flotation and advanced oxidation processes have been the focus of the research. She has also developed some activity of the waste management tools (performance indicators, balanced score card and life cycle assessment). She has published these topics in international journals and has coordinated several research projects. 

She has been mainly involved in teaching water treatment technologies, urban and hazardous waste management. Actually she is Director of the Environmental Engineering Master Course from University of Algarve.
