Biography

Augusta Costa is a researcher with expertise in Forestry and Environmental Sciences. 

Her research focuses on the management of Mediterranean forest ecosystems, on the conservation and resilience of evergreen oak woodlands and, specifically, on the understanding of the ecological sustainability of non-timber forest products harvesting systems, focusing ton cork oak bark, the cork.  Her approaches on the links between natural resource management, resilience and conservation integrate multidisciplinary teams with complementary skills for a successful high impact collaborative research and directed to stakeholders.  She has written more than 30 scientific papers and book chapters and participated in international research projects.
