Biography

Pedro Palma is currently a PhD candidate at CENSE, working on the doctoral thesis entitled: "Mitigating energy poverty vulnerability in future paradigms: Development of a big data computational tool for improved decision-making". Pedro holds a Msc. degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Systems Engineering Profile, from the NOVA School of Science and Technology, NOVA University Lisbon. He is a researcher at CENSE since May 2017, developing research work on topics such as energy needs and consumption in the building sector, thermal comfort and energy poverty vulnerability assessment and climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies. He has participated in projects such as the intermunicipal plans for climate change adaptation of Alentejo Central and Oeste Portuguese regions; the National Roadmap for Carbon Neutrality of Portugal in 2050; and “LIGAR! Energy Efficiency for all!”, about identifying energy poverty hotspots and characterizing vulnerable consumers in Portugal; and PrioritEE, focusing on energy efficiency in public buildings. He is currently participating in the Climate-KIC project SUSHI, about sustainability in historic city districts.
