CENSE WAT 2024 focused on “Circular Economy and Biodiversity” and its relevance for environmental and sustainability research. Prof. Maria Rosa Paiva welcomed participants and the two keynote speakers for this edition, introducing workshop objectives. Barbara Pia Oberč addressed the workshop topic with the presentation “A policy framework for a circular economy with biodiversity at its core”, while Prof. Patricia Rodriguéz González presented “Ecological Restoration in Portugal: challenges and opportunities for supporting biodiversity sustainability”.
Following the keynote lectures, participants worked in small groups, moderated by Prof. Rita Lopes. Through structured exercises, participants were guided by a set of questions to support a reflection on the topic “circular economy and biodiversity” and their own research topics.
