Hüseyin Ersoy is currently a PhD candidate at CENSE, pursuing his doctorate in Environment and Sustainability Studies at NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA) since September 2022. He graduated from Recep Tayyip Erdogan University (formerly Rize University) in Türkiye, with a degree in Energy Systems Engineering. Following his undergraduate studies, he earned a master's degree in Renewable Energy Systems from the Ingolstadt Technical University of Applied Sciences in Germany in 2020. During his master’s studies, he embarked on his scientific career as a scientific assistant at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. He has been serving as a scientific staff member at the Institute of Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) within the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany since 2021, contributing to transdisciplinary research activities on the sustainability of emerging energy technologies in the energy system. His technical expertise, coupled with his understanding of economic, ecological, and societal aspects of sustainability, allows him to actively participate in several EU-funded projects, enhancing European research competencies.
