Biography

Tânia Correia is a doctoral student at NOVA University of Lisbon (PhD in Environment and Sustainability). She holds a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering by the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, institution where she is an invited assistant lecturer and has worked as a research fellow in the Department of Applied Science and Technology (2019/2020). Her PhD research topic is the integration of urban wastewater treatment with food production as a link in the water-energy-food nexus, being the main application focus of the research cities and remote environments. She also worked as a researcher in two projects involving field work in Antarctica where she has been in campaign for 2 consecutive years. The focus of these projects were wastewater treatment and hydroponic food production in extreme environments, and they were developed with the support of PROPOLAR/FCT. She has published, as first author, in peer reviewed international journals and has presented her work in national and international scientific conferences.
